"After three days of a training camp under the Algarve sun, the group faced today SC Olhanense in their base camp, Browns Sports Resort.
The organizations were strained already the day before with a double or even triple workout for some players. The aim is simple as summed up by Alain Geiger: "This training camp allows us to tackle in the best conditions the second half of the season in order to fulfill our objectives. During the preparation matches I intend to give enough time to all players. My desire is not to stop a typical team yet, it's my way of telling the group that I'm counting on everyone."
The group in their traditional 4-1-3-2 face a Portuguese third division team well-placed in its national championship which is arranged in 3-4-3.

Alain Geiger on the match: "I am generally satisfied with the team's performance. I saw the game from my players, the instructions were respected and the behavior of the youth club satisfied me. This is an opportunity for them to realize what they still miss while showing up with the 1st team. We are not completely in the leg at the beginning of preparation, it will be better after the course and our upcoming matches.(...)"

Bojan Dimic on the match and the camp: "This match allowed us to give playing time to our young players of the Academy and players convalescent against the most modest opponent of the 4 games. Overall, we are happy with what we saw with good overall control and a good state of mind displayed by the players. The only regret we can have is not having realized all our opportunities. Generally the camp goes very well with ideal conditions, the players are receptive and concerned. Work and good mood are in order. It remains to finish at best for our fourth friendly (against Duisburg tonight at 16h local time in Ferreiras) and return to Geneva with our team at its best. ""

A website called "Les enfants du Servette" talked and shared pictures about Browns Sports Resort:
"As last year, the Servetian management opted for the Browns Sports Resort, in Vilamoura, Algarve, to have a warm weather training camp for eight days from 14th to 22nd January. A good place to work.
The 4-star Browns Sports Resort has been designed and built to provide excellent training, accommodation and support for all athletes, from amateur teams to national professional teams, in a safe and comfortable environment. In 2010, Browns celebrated its 10 years of activity. During this period, it hosted more than 450 teams and sports groups, ranging from junior teams, from public schools to national teams.
There is also a Health Club with more than 300 local members, as well as a popular bar and restaurant open to the public.
The owner, Alan Brown, explains the philosophy of his establishment: "Our goal is to provide the ideal environment for both leaders and players to make the most of the time spent with us. Every football coach has a different approach to his training camp. As a result, tailor made packages are created based on individual requests. Preparation is the key to ensuring the smooth running of a training camp. The climate and facilities of Browns are ideal for football and a number of major clubs have already chosen the Browns for their pre-season / pre-competition and international training.
Euro 2004 was the biggest sporting event ever held in Portugal and the Browns Club was delighted to be the official seat of accommodation and training for the Russian national team. During the same tournament, the Swedish national team also used the Browns Club to train before their quarter-final match against the Netherlands."

Are the working conditions good in Vilamoura?
It's really a perfect place. The weather conditions are very pleasant. There is a beautiful gym that overlooks the grounds and the treatment room is juxtaposed to the gym. We also have an indoor pool to unload the players in terms of support.
(...)
Is the work more intensive than in Geneva?
We entered the 2nd stage of the preparation. At first the charges are progressive and now it is heavier in terms of sessions and hard work. Everything is a question of balance. Organizations bear rather well these charges, players are used to it. For the medical staff, it is the moment in the preparation where we must be the most attentive and the most attentive to the players.
